Since the start of the 2020s, something once known to be 'used dead people's clothes' has shifted into new trends in fashion. Starting with this century many bloggers has promoted thrifting clothes where they were able to purchase clothes which were unique to specific time areas, representing that time periods style and social behaviour. These clothes have changed the fashion trends so much that it has led to mass clothing stores to even create garments similar to the clothes that are thrifted. However, they are not as authentic as the clothes you may find at your local thrift store.
Moreover, these clothes are budget friendly and sustainable! Once you purchase clothes that other people have donated or repurposed you will give a new meaning to something making more usage out of it. We all know that one man's trash is another man's treasure.
If it's your first time thrifting here are way you can easy find clothes that will look fashionable and create good outfits.
1- Check as many racks as you can
Thrifting could be unappealing once you enter the store for the first time; it may seem like there are giant piles of clothes coming towards you! That doesn't mean you should be scared to check them all. The more clothes you revise the higher chance you will find something unique and suitable for you.
2- Go thrifting with no expectations
Before going thrifting don't have the expectations that you will be able to find nice, designer clothes for dirt cheep. Keep your expectations reasonable, there is a chance that you won't be able to find anything nice at all. Thrifting is about luck.
3- Have a vision board before going thrifting
Sometimes clothes you see in thrift stores may not be appealing to you however, if you get an aesthetic vision, these clothes could give you outfit ideas which will allow you to visualise how you could utilise those clothes, (you may check my Pinterest board on Thrifting for aesthetic ideas)
4- Enjoy what you are doing
Go thrifting with your friends, have fun while you are searching for clothes, ask for their ideas. Everything is more fun when you are not alone.
